Signal was an illustrated periodical printed in Nazi Germany from 1940 to 1945.
Designed on the model of the American Life which in 1936 had inaugurated a new type
of modern, eminently visual journalism, Signal was conceived as a periodical
of high quality international scope.
Some of his photos became symbols of the Second World War.
The purpose of the publication was to convey propaganda in neutral countries
and in those that the Third Reich had already occupied or was preparing to occupy.
